Innovations I'm seeing in crypto gaming. On @Ronin_Network.
@ROL_Genesis has successfully turned an old-school MMO into a crypto game via an NFT-powered server. The old servers remain intact. While item-trading and player markets exist on the Ronin server. They've made 2.25 M USD in the last 6 months. Only 15% of their players are from Ronin, the other 85% are from web2!
@pixels_online is having success integrating crypto rewards into games such as @sleepagotchi and @pixel_dungeons, and moving towards positive return on reward spend.
@playcambria is pushing risk to earn forward. Buy in for a battle pass that allows you to earn points towards a future token but you need to be skilled. The most interesting loop here is:
1. Buy items in town from the player market. Weapons, armor, consumables.
2. Go out into the wild to grind mobs.
3. If you get PVP'd and die, your items and airdrop points can be looted. This incentivizes group play. Farm mobs and even other players in a group!
@Moku_HQ is bringing the thrill of fantasy sports team management to crypto gaming. A whimsical IP. A diehard community. 12 M raised in their raffle.
@FishingFrenzyCo is working on a proof of contribution system that better rewards both players and creators for the tangible value they bring to the ecosystem. Kind of like Kaito, but for gaming and with mid and bottom funnel metrics vs. focusing mainly on top of funnel awareness.
And then we have @AxieInfinity, learning from all of the above with a focus on the new MMO and a new battle pass system which leans into risk-to-earn, cosmetics, and reputation based rewards.
